AnyBackup Family 7.0.17.4 Release Notes

Introduction
This document provides last-minute information about AnyBackup Family 7.0.17.4. New and enhanced models, new and optimized features,  new and optimized features for applications of AnyBackup Enterprise, AnyBackup CDM, AnyBackup Express and AnyBackup Disaster Recovery Management can be found in the following sections of this document.
The release version of AnyBackup Family 7.0.17.4 is available from December 9, 2022. If you are upgrading from previous versions, please review the upgrade guide closely before performing the upgrade.

• The FC features are supported for ARM-based servers, including FX5500, FX6500, FX7500, AB2110 and AB4110.
New and Optimized Features
Storage HA: Storage high availability is achieved for cluster environments of AnyBackup Software.
- When NAS/SAN are used as the media for backup or CDM, the storage resources of the failed node will migrate to the normal nodes automatically if one node fails. The related jobs will be retained and can be started automatically following the policies, so that high availability is achieved and the maintenance is simplified.
Jobs with incremental forever backup enabled can be archived to tapes, so that the storage space is reduced and the recovery time is shrunk.
Password verification: Custom password can be set when you create or edit a backup job, so that the recovery job cannot be started until the password is entered, thus security can be enhanced.
Cleanup before backup: The storage cost is saved by binding the copy retention policy. The following table takes two copies as an example.

• Retention policy for a single copy: The retention cycle for a single full backup copy can be set to prevent it from being cleaned up.
Assume that you back up an Oracle database, a backup copy is generated every day and all backup copies are retained for 30 days (for example, from June 1 to June 30). There is one copy of data (for example, generated on June 20) which needs to be retained for three years due to its importance. You can set the retention period of this copy to 3 years and keep other copies unchanged.
• client_mgm is supported for internal-external scenario.
Product Integration: You can jump to AnyRobot if you click AnyBackup AIOps on AnyBackup Console.
IP change for a single node: The IP of a single node deployed in Single IP mode can be changed, so that the network resources are saved.
Data masking is supported when you perform CDM for MySQL.

- The heterogeneous recovery capabilities are enhanced. Auto recovery is supported if the client OS is deployed using non-template mirror and plugin.

- Support remote replication.
- AnyShare deployed on public cloud or hybrid cloud can be backed up and recovered.
• Dameng backup and recovery
- DRM auto recovery solution is supported.
- Dameng DSC can be backed up and recovered.
• HUAWEI CLOUD Stack backup and recovery
- Write Data to Disks with Multiple Threads can be configured when you create a recovery job, so that the recovery efficiency is enhanced.
• Kubernetes backup and recovery
- Kubernetes under Alibaba Cloud ACK, QingCloud KubeSphere, Fit2Cloud KubeOperator and ARM-based Kubernetes can be backed up and recovered.
- The workloads in the production environment can be overwritten during data recovery and instant recovery.
• Oracle backup and recovery
- Instance level recovery is supported, and no instance with the same name on the target end is required during recovery, so that the operation is simplified.
• SQL Server backup and recovery
- Copy-only Backups mode is supported to reduce the impact on business system.
• Informix, GBase, SinoDB backup and recovery
- Clusters can be backed up and recovered, including shared storage (active-standby), HDR, RSS and SDS.
- The policy of continuous log backup is optimized. After continuous log backup is enabled, the backup type can be flexibly triggered according to the policies.
• OpenStack backup and recovery
- TStack 6.9.2 is compatible.
AnyBackup Disaster Recovery Management
1. Database Replication and Disaster Recovery: Auto DR orchestration for Oracle standalone, Oracle RAC CDM and Kingbase FlySync (KFS) via disaster recovery management is achieved, including forward replication, one-click switch, full migration back and incremental migration back.switch, full migration back and incremental migration back.
- Advantages
• The problem of database incompleteness during disaster recovery is handled by physical backup copies, and the problem of logical replication solution is reduced by seamless switch.
• Instant recovery for massive Oracle database achieves faster full replication and higher reliability.
• By instant recovery, storage is not needed for secondary database so that the cost is reduced.
• Backup and disaster recovery are satisfied in one solution.
- Critical capabilities include:
• Forward Replication: DR policies of auto mounting and regular mounting are supported after CDM finishes. Incremental replication switch and CDM copy cleanup can be performed after mount succeeds, thus data integrity, data reliability and data reuse are guaranteed.
• One-click Switch: Business can be switched from production end to DR end by using switch template or custom template. In the custom template for production end, you can specify the production OS IP and AnyBackup client IP. In the custom template for DR end, you can specify DR OS IP, AnyBackup client IP, Oracle & RAC listening IP. With the custom template for DR end, the DR instance can be checked and renamed, and the database service can be restarted.
• Full Migration Back: Data on the new production end after switchover can be fully migrated back to the original production end (the rebuilt DR end). AnyBackup can recover copies generated from CDM jobs to the rebuilt DR end and perform incremental migration afterwards to ensure data integrity.
• Incremental Migration Back: Incremental migration back can be performed based on the newly generated data at the new production end after switch via KFS data replication software, so that data integrity is ensured.
2. Optimized DR Exercise: Automated disaster recovery and exercise using SCN incomplete recovery is supported for Oracle standalone and Oracle RAC instant recovery jobs.
